テヘラン到着の翌日夕方から体調が悪くなる。風邪をひいた模様。 とは言え、シリアのビザ取得に日本大使館のレターが必要なので、 そちらへタクシーへ向かう。 ところがテヘランでは実質上、シリアのビザが取れないとの事。 （シリアに3年以上滞在する証明書が無いとビザが発給されない） フラフラな体で何の為に来たのかと思うと甚だガックリ。 しかし捨てる神あらば拾う神あり。旦那さんがイラン人で奥さんが日本人の 夫妻に出会い、色々と助けてもらう。このお二人に会えて救われた一日だった。
My condition was bad, I perhaps had a cold, even so I needed Japan embassy letter to take a Syria visa. I went to there by tax, but stuff tought me it is impossible for turist to take Syria visa in Teheran. I felt the blues... It was wasted trip. When one god deserts you, another will pick up you. I met kind one couple, they helped me some things. This encounter was only good thing in this day.

　7日になり幾分かは体調が回復してきた為、 カスピ海で会ったハッサンに連絡を取る。 「何でもっと早く連絡しなかったのか？」と言われてしまったが （風邪ひいているのに迷惑もかけれないし・・・）、彼の友人を紹介されたり 奥さんのマスメの手料理をご馳走になる。美味いのでご飯の御代わりまで 頂いてしまった。感謝感謝。
Next day, I was better than yesterday. I called Hassan I met him in Caspian sea. He invited his home and I ate his fife dinner. It was very nice, thanks a lot.

　翌8日はハッサンの運転でテヘランから150kmほど南にある コムへ連れて行ってもらう。ここはマシュハドに次ぐイランにおける聖地で、 ハッサン達は金曜礼拝も兼ねて向かった模様。ハッサンに連れられて Hazrat-e Masumeh へ入るが、モスクの中に入るのはこれが初めて。 中に入って礼拝している人々を見ることができた。 聖廟付近での熱気、真剣な教徒達。彼らを見ていると、「宗教とは何なのか？」、 「何がここまで人を駆り立てるのか？」、疑問が次々と浮かんでくる。 煌びやかなモスクの中、自分は一人、これらの事を考え続けていた。
On Sep 8. Hassan went for a drive to Qom, it is Iran's second holiest city and it was the burial place of Fatemeh (sister of Imam Reza). We went to Hazrat-e Masumeh, and I entered it. It was first time for me to enter Mosque in Iran. I sat and watched prayers for a while in Mosque. I naturaly had many questions during I watched prayers, "What is religion?", "Why does people pry to God?",etc. I regarded seriously.
