　シリアに嫌気が出てきたので、ホムス経由でレバノンに入り、 世界遺産の遺跡があるバールベックへ向かう。しかし、この日は南風が物凄く強い大荒れの日。 ホムスへの道では砂嵐に遭遇し、レバノン入国後も強風は続いていた。おまけに夕方からは 雨が降り出した。翌朝に遺跡の見物をしたのだが、周囲の山の頂上は一晩で雪化粧されていた。 そしてこの日（22日）の夜から雨は雪に変わり、翌23日の朝は雪が5cm近く積もる始末。 ホテルは雨漏りに暖房無しの5℃。寒さと雪ですっかり気力が萎えていた。
I had bad things in Palmyra, so I wanted to leave Syria. This day was strong south wind, I encountered sand stome on the road. I passed through Homs and entered Lebanon. In this border, I met German sidecar couple, we went to Baalbeck together. Before we arrived at Baalbeck, weather condition was changed to rain. Next morning, top of mountains were covered snow, and fell snow after evening... We could look the snow scene in the 3rd day morning. My room leaked rain and melted snow water, without stove...

　レバノン国境で再会したドイツからのサイドカー乗りのフーベルトとマリアン。 彼らは雪が融けてきたと言うのでお昼前にベイルートへ出発していった。自分はもう一日すれば 雪は無くなると読み、雨漏りのホテルでもう一泊を過ごす。この賭けは当たり、翌日には 路面から完全に雪は無くなっていた。しかし、雪解け水は泥水となり、前方の車が跳ね上げて 視界が非常に悪くなる。おまけにベイルートへの峠では雲が再び出始めており、 また雪で足止めが嫌な自分は引き返してシリアのダマスカスへ向かうことに。
The sidecar couple "Hubert & Marion" left Baalbeck and went to Bayrut in the 3rd day lunch time. I stayed more one day because I supposed all snow on the road was melted tomorrow. And I had my gamble paid off. But cars striked up melted snow, I could not watch the front view. The mountain path to Bayrut was cold and cloudy. I gave up to go to Bayrut, went to Damascus. (I did not want to stop again for the snow!)
