ピーターの体調も良くなり、いよいよゴビに向けて出発。と意気込んでみたが、 肝心のゴビ方面へ向かう道が何処なのかさっぱり分からない・・・ウランバートル 市内を30分近く彷徨い、線路を跨いでナーダムスタジアムの前を通る道が、 おそらく南へ向かうだろうと予想をつける。南へ向かっているのは確かだが、 郊外へ進むと十字路で看板が出ていた。何処にも Gobi や Dalanzadgad （ダランザドガド）の 標識は無い。とりあえず真っ直ぐに進むと空港に出て、その先には料金所 （都市部では入る際に都市税としてかお金を取られる）があった。 ピーターが係りの人に話を聞き、もう一本向こうの道がそうだとの事。 草むらを突っ切りようやく道に出た。やれやれ。 （ところが、正解は十字路を左に進んだ方向でした。 この時点では知るわけも無く・・・）

Peter's condition was recovered, we started to go to Gobi desert with elan, but we didn't know the road to Gobi... We estrayed about 30 min. There was no sign board "Gobi" or "Dalanzadgad". We supposed the road of Nadaam stadium side is right road. This was right, but in cross we chose stright. This was not correct, left turn was correct. (But we couldn't know then.)

　舗装路を40分ほど走ると町に出た。どうやらこの先に大きな町は無いらしいので、 ここでお昼にする。メニューは当然キリル文字のモンゴル語。分からないので 適当に指差すと、いきなり韓国製焼酎が！どうやら、お酒のメニュー らしい。食べる真似をすると、やっと食べ物が出てきた。ふぅっ。 この町から舗装路は無くなり、草原の丘を越える轍の続く「由緒正しい」 モンゴルの道を進んで行った。

After 40 min, We arrived at one small town, and this paved road was finished. We entered one cafe, a menu was only written in Mongolian. We didn't know Mongolia, so we selected all anyhow. This result was Korean destilled spirit... I gestured to eat, finally we could eat real foods. Phew... After lunch, there were real Mongolian roads, over many hills, only wheel ruts.

　ピーターの地図を頼りに南へ進んでいたハズだったが、鉄道を横切ってから先は 「本当にメインルート？」と疑う道を進んでゆく。ピーターが言うにはそうらしい のだが、車と一台もすれ違わないのも変な気がしていた。砂地が所々出てきたり する炎天下の下、疲労困憊でついに転倒したりも。非常にゲンナリして 機嫌も最悪に近くなる。何とか鉄道に再び合流して町に出ると、 Chyory（チョール）と言う。南は南でも南東だ・・・ （鉄道は北京に向かうもの） 「このまま中国に入ってチベット経由でインドだ！」なんてジョークを 言ってみたりしたが、まともなコンパスの必要性と基本となる 太陽の位置に注意を払うべきだと、ようやく学習した一日だった。 モンゴルで初めてのテントをチョール郊外に張り、ピーターと昔の英語の事、 宗教の事、イランのことなど、モンゴルの星空の下で0時近くまで話していた。 自分にとってはこんなに沢山の星を見たのは初めてだった。

I depended Peter's navigation, but gradually road was narrow and bad. Finally, we didn't meet any cars and sometimes there were sand points. I had a question "Is this main road?", but we went on. This day was very hot and we were tired very much. I fell two times. At last, we arrived one town, but this town name was Chyory, between Ulaan baatar and China border town... We chose another way. "Let's go to China and go to Tibet, and reach to India!" we told jokes. I studied the important of compass and sun direction. We camped out of town, this was first camp in Mongolia. I could watch many stars and they were beautiful. Under many shine stars, we talked about old English, religion, Iran, etc.

　翌日、本来の目的地である Mandalgv（マンダルゴフ）へ向かう為、 西へ進路を向ける。途中の分岐点で一休みしていると、男性が馬に乗って やって来た。自分の馬に乗せてやると言うので挑戦するが、最初は暴れて 鞍に乗ることが出来ずに落馬に近い形で降りる。ここでバシシは考えた。 犬や猫もいきなり触ったらビックリするか逃げるのだから、徐々に近付いて スキンシップを取れば大丈夫では？と。馬の正面から時には立ち止まり、時には 進んで徐々に近付く。最初は額付近を撫でてやり、次に鬣（たてがみ）、そして 背中の方へと移動する。「乗っても良い？」と思いっきり日本語で尋ねてから、 ゆっくりと鐙に足を掛けて乗る。予想以上に高い視点にビックリするが、 バイクなんかよりもずっと遠くが見渡せる。生まれて初めて馬に乗った瞬間。 お礼に自分のバイクを乗せてあげると、彼は喜んでそこらを走り回っていた。 日本の鉄馬乗りがモンゴルの生きた馬に乗り、モンゴルの馬乗りが日本製鉄馬に 乗る、ちょっとした異文化交流の楽しい時間であった。その後、彼のゲルに 立ち寄り、嗅ぎタバコ（タバコの葉の粉末を直接、鼻で吸い込む）や ヨーグルト、お茶などを頂く。

Next day, we went to first destination "Mandalgv" this town is middle point between Ulaan baatar and Dalanzadgad. At one rest time, one Mongolian came on his horse. He talked us and said "Do you ride my horse?". I tried to ride his horse. First time, his horse ran wild and I couldn't ride. Next time, I gradually went to approach his horse, touch mane and said "Can I ride you?". I could ride on his horse. More my image, view point was very high. For thank to ride his horse, I lent my Iron Horse to him. He was very plesure and enjoyed riding. We went his ger and ate a yoghurt, drank a tea, tried to a sunuff tobacco.

　午後からは岩砂漠の様な乾いた地帯を走っていく。気温38℃（自分のロシア製 温度計では）の下、何とか走って夕方にマンダルゴフへ到着。自分達が 泊まったホテルにはシャワーが無いので、近くの別のホテルでシャワーを借りるが、 残念ながら水。タフだったが良い経験が出来た一日であった。

In the afternoon, there was desert area with many rocks. The temperature was 38 degrees, very hot. At PM6, we reahed in Mandalgv. It was taugh day but I had a good exrepience.
